Moderation & Appeals

How reports, content decisions, account actions, and appeals work.

Reporting

Members and visitors can report suspected illegal content, policy violations, scams, safety concerns, or privacy violations from the relevant content menu or at safety@soberplusone.com. Include the URL or username, the reason, and enough context to locate the content. Do not send unnecessary sensitive data.

Triage

We prioritize credible imminent harm, minors, sexual exploitation, non-consensual imagery, trafficking, threats, doxxing, and serious fraud. Automated signals may queue or temporarily limit activity, but reports and material sanctions are subject to human review where feasible.

Possible actions

Actions include no action, warning, label, reach reduction, content removal, feature restriction, temporary suspension, permanent termination, evidence preservation, and legally required referral. We consider severity, intent, context, prior behavior, reach, victim impact, and credible remediation.

Notice and reasons

When we remove or restrict content or an account, we ordinarily provide a clear reason, the policy relied on, the scope and duration, whether automation materially contributed, and how to appeal. We may withhold details where disclosure would endanger someone, expose detection systems, or violate law.

Appeals

Appeal from the enforcement notice or email appeals@soberplusone.com. Identify the decision and explain the relevant context or mistake. A reviewer not responsible for the original decision will assess eligible appeals when staffing permits. We communicate the outcome and restore content or access when the appeal succeeds.

Transparency

We maintain internal moderation records and plan to publish periodic aggregate statistics once enough activity exists to do so without exposing individuals. Legal obligations may require additional statements of reasons, complaint mechanisms, or reporting in particular regions.
